I am a geek. Definitely. Not everyone expects me to be as geeky as I am, and seem sort of surprised when I mention that I only watch Castle because I miss Firefly or that my favorite anime character is Zaraki Kenpachi (even though I don't watch the show anymore).

My name is Alexis, and I'm in the process of changing it from my legal name.

My life goal is to be able to support myself writing somehow, be it novels, poetry (haha, yes. I know), articles, or any other method/combination really.

I love TV and movies. Torchwood, Big Bang Theory, Firefly, X-Men, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, The Office, Community, Glee, The Island, Arrested Development, 30 Rock, Parks and Recreation, etc. I'd get into Dr. Who and Star Trek if I could sit and watch them with someone, I'm about 87% sure.

I used to be huge into anime and manga, but lately I've been more into comics. I love Umbrella Academy, and I'm making my way through Fables and Neil Gaiman's Sandman.

I love reading, too. I love fantasy. It doesn't really matter what kind, as long as it's well written. I also like science fiction. Lately, I've been into historical fiction as well. And I have always (and probably forever will) love young adult fiction.

A few of my favorite authors are Neil Gaiman, J.R.R. Tolkien, John Green, David Levithan, Scott Westerfeld, C.S. Lewis, and Charles de Lint.

I also like poetry, although I don't read that as much. My favorite poets are T.S. Eliot and Sylvia Plath.

I love video games, although I don't play them an incredible amount. I go through phases where video games suck up all my free time, and then I won't play them again seriously for two weeks or a month. I love my 360, and my favorite series is the Fable games.

Other things that interest me include: guitars, gender issues, politics, gay rights, steampunk, weird fashion, and supernatural phenomena.
